Objectives
The main aim of this project is to document and communicate the significance of the Berlin Wall as a historical and cultural heritage. By exploring the history and current significance of the Wall, locals and tourists should develop a deeper understanding of Berlin’s past and present.
Realization
The documentary begins with an introduction to the history of the Berlin Wall, including its construction in 1961 and its fall in 1989, and explores the political, social and cultural impact of the Wall on Germany and Europe.
A special focus is placed on the development of the city of Berlin before and after the Wall was built. Interviews with historians, contemporary witnesses and urban researchers are used to examine Berlin’s transformation from a divided city to a united metropolis.
