Our Client
Klaus Blaser is a Swiss artist whose ink paintings capture “inner world images” – meditative works created at the intersection of Vedic Art, mindfulness, and free expression. His art book “Wolkengesichter und Kurzgeschichten,” published by IL-Verlag, brings together seventy-one ink paintings and sixteen short stories, forming a central piece in Blaser’s artistic body of work.
Project Goals
Web design and development with CMS
Bilingual website (German and Dutch)
Logo development for “Atelier Klaus Blaser”
Integration of a dedicated book section including cover text
Fully responsive design for all devices
Independent content management by the artist
Our Solution
ThatWorksMedia developed a minimalist web design that places the ink paintings firmly at center stage. The core concept: the website is divided into three virtual exhibition rooms – the Grey Room, the Blue Room, and the Green Room.
Each room offers its own color scheme and thematic atmosphere, corresponding to the group of works on display. This structure enables a curated presentation that invites visitors to explore – much like a walkthrough of a physical gallery.
Implementation
The website was built using WordPress and the Elementor page builder – a combination that pairs creative flexibility with ease of use. Elementor allowed us to design the three exhibition rooms as distinct, visually differentiated sections with individual color schemes, background effects, and image galleries, all without touching the code layer. The result is an experience-driven site architecture where the exhibition rooms form the heart of the navigation. The homepage prominently features the art book “Wolkengesichter und Kurzgeschichten.” The custom-designed logo integrates seamlessly into the restrained overall aesthetic, anchoring the “Atelier Klaus Blaser” brand visually.
For search engine optimization and generative discoverability, the site was built from the ground up with SEO and GEO best practices: a clean page structure with semantically correct heading hierarchies, optimized meta titles and descriptions for every subpage, compressed image files with alt tags for fast loading times and accessibility, and a well-structured internal linking architecture. The bilingual setup was implemented so that both language versions exist as independent, indexable pages with hreflang attributes – essential for correct delivery in regional search results and AI-powered answer engines.
At the artist’s request, the entire website was additionally produced in Dutch to directly reach his audience in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Key elements of the implementation:
The three exhibition rooms form the heart of the navigation
The art book “Wolkengesichter und Kurzgeschichten” is prominently featured on the homepage
Custom logo design integrated into the minimalist visual identity
Responsive design optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile
Full bilingual implementation (German and Dutch)
The content management system allows the artist to independently update artworks, texts, and book information.
Takeaway
The project brings together web design, branding, and content strategy into a cohesive digital presence. The room-based structure offers a creative approach to presenting art online – and demonstrates what marketing for artists can look like without feeling intrusive. Rather than relying on aggressive sales cues, the concept prioritizes immersion and atmosphere.
Result
A gallery-like atelier website that conveys the essence of ink painting in a digital format. The room structure creates an exhibition experience that guides visitors intuitively through the groups of work. Logo, typography, and layout form a cohesive visual identity that reflects Klaus Blaser’s artistic ambition.
Goals achieved: Professional artist website with strong brand recognition Three thematic exhibition rooms, each with its own color world Bilingual presence in German and Dutch Logo design for “Atelier Klaus Blaser” Book presentation on the homepage Responsive design and CMS-based independence
