A professionally produced AI commercial costs from about €2,500 net for a single spot. Typical campaign spots run between €3,000 and €12,000, and hybrid productions that combine AI with 3D or live footage start at €4,000. Tool subscriptions on their own cost far less, but they do not include concept, script, editing, sound, formats and approvals. That is what an agency price pays for. Media spend (airtime, paid social) is always on top.
These are the prices of our studio in Berlin, net and excluding VAT. This guide shows what sits behind them, what a classic commercial costs for comparison, which costs people forget and how to brief an agency so that quotes are comparable. For finished work, see our overview of the best AI-generated commercials. For the process from idea to broadcast, see AI commercial production.
What does an AI commercial cost in 2026?
| Type of production | What it includes | Price (net) | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI spot, 15 to 60 seconds | Concept, script, AI visuals and voice, editing and sound, delivered in 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 | From €2,500; typical €3,000 to €12,000 | 5 to 10 working days |
| Hybrid spot: AI plus a precisely modelled 3D product | AI environment and speed, 3D accuracy for the product itself | From €4,000 | 3 to 5 weeks |
| Premium hybrid spot, 30 to 60 seconds (AI and live footage) | Higher production value, real footage where it matters | From €8,000 | 3 to 5 weeks with 3D or a live shoot |
| Campaign with several variants and localisations | One concept, many cut-downs, languages and formats | On request | Depends on scope |
Prices are starting points for a clear brief. Details of what we produce are on our AI advertising page; the three workflows (AI, hybrid, 3D) are explained on the AI videos page. Pure AI productions usually take 5 to 10 working days, and rush projects with 72 hours’ notice are possible.
What does a classic commercial cost, for comparison?
There is no audited industry average for a commercial. As an orientation, the US production company C&I Studios published a price guide in March 2026 for a 30-second commercial, production only:
| Tier | Production cost (USD) | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Entry level | $1,500 to $5,000 | Social media ads, local TV, small businesses |
| Mid-range | $5,000 to $25,000 | Regional TV, branded content, digital campaigns |
| Professional | $25,000 to $100,000 | National TV, product launches, brand campaigns |
| High-end | $100,000 to $500,000+ | Major national campaigns, celebrity talent |
Two cautions. The ranges are in US dollars and come from one company’s guide, so treat them as orientation and not as a benchmark. And they cover production only: airtime and media placement are separate costs, for AI spots just as for classic ones.
Is AI really 70 to 90 percent cheaper?
You will see claims like this on the websites of AI tool vendors. We could not trace such a figure to an independent study, so we do not use one. What we can say from our own work: the savings come mainly from time (a pure AI spot takes 5 to 10 working days at our studio, a production with 3D or a live shoot takes 3 to 5 weeks), from variants and formats, and from not building every scene physically. Strategy, approvals, rights, sound and a careful edit do not disappear with AI, and they are a large part of what a good spot costs.
What drives the price?
- Length and number of finished versions. One 30-second master in three formats costs less than ten cut-downs with different endings.
- Visual ambition and consistency. A character, product or location that must look identical in every shot takes more iterations than a mood-driven spot.
- Real products. If the product must be shown exactly (shape, labels, details), a hybrid workflow with a 3D model or real footage is usually needed, and that is why hybrid spots start higher.
- Voice, music and languages. Each additional language needs its own voice, timing and review.
- Revisions and stakeholders. The number of feedback rounds and the number of people who must approve can be among the biggest cost drivers.
- Compliance checks. Labelling and rights checks take time (see below).
Costs people forget
- Media budget. Production is one line; airtime, paid social and creator fees are separate.
- Licences and consent. Check the commercial licence of every tool, music track and voice used, and get written consent for any real person’s face or voice.
- Labelling and disclosure. Under Article 50 of the EU AI Act, AI-generated or manipulated image, audio or video that counts as a deep fake must be disclosed, and providers of generative systems must mark their output in a machine-readable way. Evidently artistic or creative works have a lighter duty. Plan time for the label and a legal check; our free AI Labelling Kit helps with the practical side.
- Versions for every channel. Cinema, connected TV, Instagram and LinkedIn all need different lengths and aspect ratios.
- Your own time. Brand guidelines, product data, approvals and feedback take hours on your side as well.
When AI is not the cheaper choice
AI saves the most where a physical shoot would be expensive or impossible: places that do not exist yet, many variants, several languages, fast turnaround. It saves little where real people and authenticity carry the message, such as testimonials, interviews, events and real spaces, or where a product must be shown exactly. In practice the best answer is often a hybrid: real footage for credibility, AI for the scenes that would otherwise be unaffordable. That is why we offer both from one team.
Example: a 30-second spot in four weeks
For the housing company WGS Schwerin, a 30-second image film came together in four weeks in a hybrid AI and live-action workflow. It also ran as a cinema ad.
How to brief an agency for a comparable quote
- The goal of the spot and how you will measure it (reach, clicks, leads, brand recall).
- Channels and formats (TV, cinema, social, web) with the lengths you need.
- Number of versions and languages.
- What must be real: products, people, locations, logos.
- Existing assets: footage, brand guidelines, voice and music preferences.
- Who approves, how many feedback rounds you expect, and your deadline.
- Where and for how long the spot will run (usage rights).
- Your budget range, so the agency can propose the right workflow.
Then ask every agency the same questions: what is included in the price (concept, script, revisions, formats), how many revision rounds are covered, who owns the finished spot and what rights you get, which tools and licences are used, and how labelling is handled.
Questions about AI commercial costs
How much does a 30-second AI commercial cost?
At our studio a standalone AI spot starts at €2,500 net, and typical campaign spots cost between €3,000 and €12,000 net. A hybrid spot with a 3D product starts at €4,000. The final price depends on the number of versions, the visual ambition, voice and languages, and the revision rounds.
Is an AI commercial cheaper than a classic one?
For the production itself, usually yes, especially when you need many variants, several languages or a short timeline. There is no audited average, and vendor claims of 70 to 90 percent savings cannot be traced to independent data. For real people and exact product shots a hybrid is often the better answer.
How long does an AI commercial take?
Pure AI productions at our studio usually take 5 to 10 working days. With 3D or a live shoot, plan for 3 to 5 weeks.
Do AI commercials have to be labelled?
In the EU, Article 50 of the AI Act requires that AI-generated or manipulated image, audio or video that counts as a deep fake is disclosed, with a lighter duty for evidently artistic or creative works. Whether a specific spot is affected depends on its content. Our AI Labelling Kit explains the practical steps; for your case, ask a lawyer.
What is not included in the price?
Media spend (airtime, paid social), VAT, and usually extra rounds of revisions beyond those agreed. Ask every agency for a list of what is included.
